ONWARD...TO JAPAN

It’s been just over 4 months since I moved to Japan. After not having been able to come here for several years due to a certain public health crisis, it felt wonderful coming back in January/February for Koshi Inaba’s en3.5 performances. Being able to visit many of the places within Tokyo I had come to know in my year in Japan in 2019, as well as discover new places gave me a real feeling of life having “moved on”. The rest of the world had been opening up around then, and I had already been toying with the idea of moving, but that month was the last push I needed to get my affairs in order to and traverse the Pacific Ocean to relocate to Tokyo.

Seeing as I’ve already been here for 4 months, this isn’t so much an announcement as a report. I’ve been working away at getting myself set up here, and feel lucky to already have played with some fantastic musicians (such as DURAN, Fuyu, KenKen, Tom Vanopphem, ISAO, Yuuya Maeta, Jiro Okada, and more), made some good friends, worked on some of my own music, and finished my first arrangement for a video game (which I will share details about soon). Work aside, I’ve also been content to get into the flow of life here, and try to embark on this chapter with as much grace as possible.
